Sandra Emmet has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology, MSc in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology and PG Diploma Play Therapy.
Sandra has more than thirty years experience with working with children, initially in a preschool setting. Sandra went on to attain degrees in psychology then the British Association of Play Therapists (BAPT) approved Post Graduate Diploma in Play Therapy, qualifying as a therapist who can offer play therapy to children. Sandra has also trained in America at the Center for Play Therapy, University of North Texas with therapy pioneers Garry Landreth and Sue Bratton.
Sandra has experience of working with a broad range of children and young people.
Sandra has provided services to children from varying backgrounds, natural families, families with adopted children and children in foster families. Amongst these diverse groups there have been common experiences of loss, bereavement, family breakdown and trauma.
Registered with both the British Psychological Society and the British Association of Play Therapists, Sandra's work is guided by the Code of Practice for the British Psychological Society and the British Association of Play Therapists. She is committed to offering a service that has integrity, is effective and empathic.
